Again, most Visa gift cards do not support direct deposit functionality because they are not tied to a bank account. Only reloadable prepaid cards (not gift cards) might allow direct deposits, depending on the issuer’s terms.

#2. Add to PayPal and Transfer to Cash App

In this method, you are going to use PayPal as the middleman to transfer gift card balances to Cash App.

In case you don’t already have a PayPal account, sign up for free at www.paypal.com. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Find the wallet section in the app or look for bank and card under the money section.

Under credit and debit cards click on the link a card option.

A form appears on the next page where you must enter your Visa gift card details, including the card number, expiration date, and CVV.

Ensure the billing address on the form matches the one registered with your gift card, just in case you might need to register the card first on the issuer’s website for the linking to go through.
